Amrozowicz leads Bobcats past Pacers 4-1

AIKEN, S.C. | Morgan Amrozowicz scored twice to lead Georgia College & State University past the University of South Carolina-Aiken 4-1 in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Saturday (Oct. 26) evening at the Pacer Pit.

The Bobcats improved to 7-6-3 overall and to 3-3-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Pacers slipped to 2-11-2 and 1-7-0. GCSU closes out its regular season schedule with a 1 p.m. PBC match Saturday (Nov. 2) at the Bobcat Soccer Field against Georgia Southwestern State University. The Bobcats will recognize their 16 seniors after the match.

Grace Phillips put GCSU on the scoreboard on a wide-open shot from 18 yards out at the 31:10 mark.

The Bobcats took a 3-1 led as Amrozowicz tallied two strikes in the first 13 minutes of the second half. Her first goal at the 48:38 mark came off a cross from Ava Martin, while Aralyn Everett sent in a cross in front of the goal for Amrozowicz's fourth goal of the year.

After a USC Aiken goal, Sarah King closed out the scoring at the 62:53 mark off a double pass in front of the goal from Sara Schultz and Adriana Duque. It wads King's third goal of the season.

The Bobcats led the Pacers in shots 20-8, including an 11-4 margin on goal. GCSU held a hefty advantage on corner kicks 13-2. GCSU goalkeeper Maddie Drake stopped three USC Aiken shots.
