MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Ali Amrozowicz's hat trick propelled Georgia College & State University to a 4-1 non-conference women's soccer victory over Christian Brothers University Saturday (Oct. 5) afternoon at the Bobcat Soccer Field.
The Bobcats improved to 4-4-2, while the Buccaneers remained winless in seven tries. GCSU will return to action Wednesday (Oct. 9) with a road contest against Lincoln Memorial University.
The hat trick for
Ali Amrozowicz was the first for the Bobcats in five years to the day when Cassie Balzano scored three times against Georgia Southwestern State University on October 5, 2019.
Ali Amrozowicz wasted little time getting the Bobcats in the scoring column as she intercepted a back pass from the Buccaneers 20 seconds into the match and deposited the ball in the right corner.Â
Ava Martin doubled the GCSU lead at the 7:52 mark when she scored off a
Morgan Amrozowicz assist.
Ali Amrozowicz scored an unassisted goal seven minutes later. The Amrozowicz sisters teamed up for the final goal.
Morgan Amrozowicz played a through ball in the center of the field and
Ali Amrozowicz scored her fourth goal of 2024 on the left flank.
CBU scored its goal at the 63:31 mark by Elisa Cruz that was set up onb Ana Dutra's direct kick from the right side.
GCSUÂ held a 17-11 margin on shots, including a 10-5 edge on goal, and a 8-6 lead on corner kicks.
Maddie Drake pushed aside three shots in the Bobcat goal, while
Sarah Charney stopped one.
