Zyair Greene has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week ending Dec. 22.
Greene, a junior 6-foot-3 guard from Lithonia, Georgia, averaged 27.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of wins for the Bobcats. Greene shot 66 percent (19-of-29) from the field and 63 percent (15-of-24) from three-point range.
He scored a career-high 33 points, hitting 11-of-15 from the field and 9-for-12 from long range in a win over Albany State University. The nine made three-pointers is the most in a single game in the PBC this season. Greene added 22 points and seven rebounds in a win over Belmont Abbey College.
Greene leads the PBC and is ranked fourth in NCAA Division II in made three-pointers per game 3.89). He is also third in the PBC in scoring (21.0) and three-point percentage (.473).
GCSU returns to action Dec. 31 when the Bobcats entertain Emmanuel (Ga.) University in a 3 p.m. contest inside the Centennial Center.
