Bears defeat GCSU

MACON, Ga. | Mercer University picked up a 7-0 non-conference men's tennis victory over Georgia College & State University Wednesday (Feb. 28) afternoon at the Randy Stephens Tennis Center.

The Division I Bears improved to 2-9, while the Bobcats fell to 2-7. GCSU returns to the Centennial Center Tennis Courts Friday (March 1) for a 1 p.m. match against Catawba College.

Mercer won the doubles point and took all six singles matches. Noé Villen and Enzo Sergi had tight singles matches for the Bobcats. Villen lost 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, while Sergi dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 4.
