Fourth quarter comeback attempt fell short against Jaguars on the road, 68-62

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball came up short on the road at Augusta University, 68-62.

GCSU fell to 12-14 on the season and 6-10 in the Peach Belt Conference. AU improved to 19-7 overall and 14-3 in the conference. The Bobcats are back in action to take on Columbus State University on Sunday, March 3rd at 1:00 p.m.

Georgia College and Augusta were neck and neck after the first quarter with the Jaguars in front 17-15. AU had a breakout second quarter scoring 23 to the Bobcats' 13 for the 41-28 lead at the half. GCSU came out of the half and outscored the Jaguars 34-27 including a 23-point fourth quarter. AU held on to the 68-62 lead.

Hannah Cail led the Georgia College scoring on a 17-point game which came on eight field goals. Ashyia Willis was right behind Cail as she iced 15 points on the evening shooting 50 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free throw line. Miracle Parker rounded out the double digit scoring with 11 points on a 4-for-7 performance with two free throws.

Alexa Geary led the team in rebounds with seven. Jada Warren and Cail had the second most as they both picked up six.
