MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College & State University men's basketball team took a tough loss to No. 6-ranked University of North Georgia 81-65 Wednesday (Feb. 7) evening at the Centennial Center.
GCSU fell to 9-12 on the season and 2-9 in the Peach Belt Conference. UNG improved to 19-2 and 10-1. The Bobcats return to action Saturday, Feb 10 at 3:30 p.m. on the road at Flagler College.
Brendan Rigsbee led the scoring effort shooting 50 percent from the floor and 2-for-3 from long range for 11 points.
Brady Spence had the second most with 10 going 3-for-5 from field goal range and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
Oscar Lynch rounded out the leading scorers with nine points on a 4-for-8 day.
Rigsbee and Spence led the rebounding effort with five rebounds each. Rigsbee had three under the Nighthawk bucket and two under the Bobcat bucket. Spence had four defensive boards and one on the offensive side.
