SPARTANBURG, S.C. | The 37th-ranked Georgia College & State University women's tennis team recorded a 6-1 non-conference victory over Converse University Sunday (March 10) afternoon at the Weisiger Center.
The Bobcats improved to 8-6, while the Valkyries fell to 5-5. GCSU will return to action March 26 when they host Middle Georgia State University in a 2 p.m. match at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
GCSU took two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
Ashton Morrison and
Jada Young won 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while
Ashley Bentz and
Shradha Chhabra teamed up at No. 3 to claim a 6-3 win.
The Bobcats won five of the six singles matches in straight sets with Young, No. 68-ranked
Chiara Santoro, Bentz,
Laura Almagro and Chhabra picking up victories.
