MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | No. 8-ranked Flagler College took the Peach Belt Conference women's tennis opener over No. 47 Georgia College & State University 7-0 Friday (March 29) afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
The Saints improved to 8-2 overall and to 1-0 in the PBC, while the Bobcats fell to 8-7 and 0-1. GCSU returns to action Saturday (March 30) with a noon PBC match in Americus, Georgia, against Georgia Southwestern State University.
Flagler took all six singles matches in straight sets; however,
Jada Young dropped her match at No. 1 singles by scores of 7-6 and 7-6 to Flagler's Nadja Meier, who is ranked No. 2 in singles nationally. Meier took set one in a 7-5 tiebreaker before taking set two 7-3.
