Brendan Rigsbee named to All-Peach Belt second team

AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University men's basketball player Brendan Rigsbee has been named to the All-Peach Belt Conference second team.

Rigsbee, a sophomore guard from Suwanee, Georgia, led the Bobcats in points (464), scoring average (17.2), minutes played per game (31.6), assists (72), and steals (21). He was second in rebounding average (5.6) and blocked shots (27), and third in total rebounds (150). The two-time Peach Belt Player of the Week this season started 26 of the 27 games played. Rigsbee connected on 49.3 percent shots from the floor (165-of-335), including 32-of-70 (.457) from three-point range. He also shot 72.3 percent (102-of-141) from the charity stripe.

Rigsbee was second in the conference in free throws attempted (141), third in field goals made (165), fourth in field goal percentage (.493), fifth in total points (464) and scoring average (17.2), sixth in field goals attempted (335), seventh in free throws made (102) and ninth in total blocks (27).

GCSU (14-14) returns to action Wednesday (March 6) at the 2024 Marvin Vanover Peach Belt Tournament being held at the USC Aiken Convocation Center in Aiken, South Carolina. The Bobcats, who are seeded eighth in the tournament, will face top seed and host University of South Carolina-Aiken (23-5) in a 5 p.m. quarterfinal.
