DAHLONEGA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University dropped its regular-season finale 7-0 to No. 8 University of North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match Saturday (April 20) afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek.
The Nighthawks improved to 12-6 overall and to 3-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Bobcats fell to 4-14 and 0-5. Both teams will return to action Friday (April 26) at the PBC Tournament in Columbus, Georgia. The tournament bracket will be released later by the conference office.
Although the Nighthawks took the double point, the GCSU tandem of
Braxton Wright and
Reid Bissell won their match at No. 3 doubles 6-4. Wright also forced his singles match at No. 4 to go the full three sets. He dropped the first set 6-4 before taking set two 6-1. His opponent rallied for a 6-4 win in the deciding third set.
