CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The Georgia College & State University women's volleyball team opened play at the Flames Invitational hosted by Lee University Friday (Sept. 13) afternoon at Paul Dana Walker Arena.
The Bobcats dropped a pair of four-set decisions on the opening day of the tournament. Lee defeated GCSU in the opening match 25-21, 22-25, 25-13-25 and 25-23, before Lincoln Memorial University recorded a 25-11, 25-15, 25-27 and 25-19 results over the Bobcats.
GCSU fell to 3-3 and will wrap up action at the tournament with two more matches Saturday (Sept. 14). The Bobcats will face Arkansas Tech University at 9 a.m. before entertaining Eckerd College at 4:30 p.m.
Against the Flames,
Camryn Carlton posted 12 kills, while
Rosa Fisher had eight and
Sarah Pipping tallied seven.
Riese Johnson distributed 20 assists, while
Sadie Parkerson had 14.
Alanis Bernis (15) and Johnson (11) registered double figure digs. Carlton and
Brooke Roberts collected six total blocks each, while
Nya Warren had three.
Carlton led the way in the nightcap against the Railsplitters with nine kills, while Pipping and Fisher each had six. Parkerson tallied 15 assists, while
Lexi Baum had 11 more. Bernis had 20 digs for the Bobcats, while Roberts and Warren each had two total blocks.
