Bobcats wrap up play at Flames Invitational

CLEVELAND, Tenn. | Georgia College & State University dropped its final two volleyball matches Saturday (Sept. 14) at the Flames Invitational hosted by Lee University inside the Paul Dana Walker Arena.

The Bobcats fell 25-18, 25-14 and 25-22 to Arkansas Tech University in the morning before absorbing a 25-20, 25-18 and 25-23 decision to Eckerd College in the tournament finale.

GCSU fell to 3-5 and will return to action Friday (Sept. 20) for a 6 p.m. match in Florence, South Carolina, against former Peach Belt Conference-foe Francis Marion University.

All-Invitational performer Camryn Carlton led the Bobcats with nine kills, while Rosa Fisher had eight. Sadie Parkerson tallied 15 assists, Riese Johnson passed out 10 more. Cadence Spilotros led Georgia College with 10 digs and three total blocks, while Brooke Roberts had five total blocks.

Spilotros paced the Bobcats against the Tritons with nine kills, while Carlton and Fisher each had six. Parkerson had 14 assists, while Lexi Baum had nine. Alanis Bernis had 10 digs, while Parkerson had nine and Ella Harper posted eight. Roberts had four total blocks, while Nya Warren had three and Carlton registered two more.

Sarah Pipping was also named to the All-Invitational team.
