VALDOSTA, Ga. | Morgan Amrozowicz and
Ava Martin each scored a goal and assisted on another as the Georgia College & State University women's soccer team shut out Valdosta State University Saturday (Sept. 14) at the VSU Soccer Stadium.
The Bobcats improved to 3-1-0, while the Blazers fell to 2-2-0. GCSU returns home Wednesday (Sept. 18) for a 3 p.m. non-conference match against Florida Southern College.
Morgan Amrozowicz's second goal of 2024 gave GCSU a 1-0 lead at the 25:15 mark off a Martin assist. The duo was also responsible for the second goal when
Morgan Amrozowicz fed Martin for her second goal of the season less than 10 minutes into the second half.
Abbey Eison closed out the Bobcat scoring with a goal in the 70th minute to give Georgia College a 3-0 lead. Eison scored her second goal of the campaign off an
Ali Amrozowicz assist.
GCSU outshot the Blazers 11-8, but Valdosta State held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Ella Hayes stopped four shots in the Bobcat goal for the first shutout of the season.
