MACON, Ga. | Behind four runners inside the top 25, Georgia College & State University finished in second place at the Julius Johnson Invitational Saturday (Sept. 21) morning.
The Bobcats finished with a team score of 63, only bettered by invitational host Mercer University, which had a score of 20. There were 14 teams at the meet.
Nour Nazim was the top Bobcat in the field as he finished the 7.7K layout on the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course with a time of 25:22.09.
Shipley Smith (26:02.94) and
Daniel Laird (26:16.76) recorded top 20 finishes for GCSU as Smith came in 16th place and Laird was 20th.
Evan Rehrauer came in 22nd place with a time of 26:24.03, while
Jaycob Wagner (24th, 26:32.00),
Noah Boyd (26th, 26:55.42) and
Garrison Lee (29th, 27:12.98) were close behind.
Peyton Harley was next in 35th place with a time of 27:40.86 and was followed by
Brendan Rice (42nd, 28:06.34),
Andrew Cook (63rd, 29:47.79) and
Reed Glaser (65th, 29:52.24).
The Bobcats return to action next Saturday (Sept. 28) when they host the Bobcat Invitational. The race begins at 10 a.m. on the Council Farms Cross Country Course.
