Bobcats place second at Bobcat Invitational

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's cross country team came in second place at the GCSU Bobcat Invitational Saturday (Sept. 28) morning at the Council Farms Cross Country Course.

The Bobcats, who had three runners in the top 10, finished with a team score of 48. Peach Belt Conference-foe Flagler College won the event with 19 points.

GCSU had three runners go back-to-back-to back in the top 10. Nour Nazim set a personal-best 8K time of 27:06.4 and came in sixth place, while Daniel Laird was 1.2 second behind Nazim to finish in seventh. Shipley Smith also set a personal best as he came in eighth place with an effort of 27:16.9.

Jaycob Wagner and Noah Boyd finished in the top 20 for GCSU. Wagner placed 17th with a time of 28:04.9, while Boyd was 20th with a time of 28:21.0. Peyton Harley came in 25th place at 28:46.6, while Garrison Lee posted a time of 30:18.8 and came in 34th. Evan Rehrauer finished in 36th place with a time of 30:39.0 and was followed by Brendan Rice (37th, 30:50.5) and Reed Glaser (41st, 31:59.4).

The Bobcats return to action Oct. 11 at 4:15 p.m. when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Royals Cross Country Challenge.
