CHARLOTTE, N.C. | The Georgia College & State University men's cross country team wrapped up their regular season schedule at the Royals Cross Country Challenge Friday (Oct. 10) afternoon hosted by Queens University of Charlotte.
The Bobcats competed in two races at the Challenge. GCSUÂ finished in 12th place out 19 teams in the gold race with 329 points, while the Bobcats didn't score in the blue race.
The top five runners for the Bobcats in the gold race each finished with a personal best time on the 8K course at McAlpine Creek Park.
Shipley Smith was the top GCSU runner in the field as he came in 52nd place with a time of 25:48.75, while
Evan Rehrauer was next in 57th at 25:57.24.
Zach Hilyer finished in 74th place with a time of 26:14.85, while
Nolan Lane was 88th at 26:32.91 and
Karl Ritzler finished with a time of 26:49.60, good for 102th.Â
Noah Boyd was 105th with a time of 26:57.18 and was followed by
Daniel Laird (116th, 27:09.77) and
Peyton Harley (139th, 27:59.91).
In the blue race, all three GCSU runners established career bests.
Reed Glaser was 68th with an effort of 28:06.28 and was followed by
Evan Armstrong (69th, 28:07.15) and
Daniel Bell (84th, 28:29.16).
The Bobcats will return to action in two weeks as they host the Peach Belt Conference Championship at 10:15 a.m. Oct. 25 at the Bobcat Cross Country Course.
