COCHRAN, Ga. | Sarah Mason's two goals helped propel Georgia College & State University to a Peach Belt Conference win against Middle Georgia State University Wednesday evening at Nesmith Field.
The Bobcats improved to 4-3-3 overall and 3-0-2 in conference, while MGS moved to 1-5-4 and 0-5-1. GCSU is back in action this Saturday (Oct. 11), hosting the University of South Carolina Aiken at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
Middle Georgia State took an early lead off a goal from Safiya Dean at the 13:36 mark.
Sarah Mason helped the Bobcats take the lead with a pair of goals, one at the 31:39 mark assisted by Jenni Jarvenaus and the other at the 51:51 mark assisted by Kaisa Fagerstrom.
The Bobcats held a 15-6 advantage in shots and a 7-1 margin in shots on goal. GCSU also led 7-0 in corner kicks.
