GREENWOOD, S.C. | Georgia College & State University fell 1-0 to Lander University in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Saturday (Nov. 1) afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
The Bobcats fell to 7-6-3 overall and 5-3-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Bearcats improved to 11-2-2 and 8-1-1. GCSU will play their last regular season game on Tuesday (Nov. 4), hosting Eckerd College with kickoff set for 5 p.m.
Sophia Trio scored the lone goal of the game at 21:27 for the Bearcats. Lander outshot the Bobcats 15-9, with a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. GCSU held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Ella Hayes recorded four saves in the net for the Bobcats.
With the result, GCSU secures the No. 4 seed in the Peach Belt Conference standings and will host a quarterfinal match of the conference tournament next Saturday (Nov. 8).
