MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University fell in their women's basketball home opener 49-39 against Southern Wesleyan University Wednesday (Nov. 19) evening at the Centennial Center.
The Warriors improved to 1-2 while the Bobcats fell to 0-3. GCSU will be back in action Saturday (Nov. 22) as they travel to Tigerville, S.C. to play North Greenville University. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
This was a back-and-forth battle for majority of the game, with six lead changes and 10 ties between the two. The Warriors gained their biggest lead of the game in the last four minutes, spreading the point difference to 10.
Sophomore guard
Molly Burns scored a team-high 12 points in the contest, with senior guard
Deshona Gaither close behind with nine.
