AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University women's basketball team came up short against Augusta University Saturday (Dec. 13) afternoon, falling 62-50 at the George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The Jaguars improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Bobcats fell to 1-7 and 0-3. GCSU returns to the Centennial Center Monday (Dec. 15) morning when they host LaGrange College for Education Day. Tip-off is set for 10:30 a.m.

The Bobcats answered in the third quarter, tying the game at 32 behind a pair of baskets from junior Nylah Nuri and two sets of free throws from Elizabeth Wynn and Deshona Gaither.

The Jaguars regained the lead but never pulled away, as GCSU continued to cut the deficit down to as little as two points. Augusta eventually created separation in the final minutes, extending the lead to double digits with two minutes remaining to secure the victory.
