GREENWOOD, S.C. | Hannah Cail accumulated 21 points as Georgia Collge & State University fell to Lander University 68-48 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday (Feb. 15) afternoon at the Finis Horne Arena.
The Bobcats fell to 14-10 overall and to 7-7 in the PBC, while Lander improved to 11-9 and 6-7. GCSU continues its short road trip Wednesday (Feb. 19), battling Clayton State University at 5:30 p.m. in Morrow, Georgia.
The Bobcats fell behind early and fast, as the Bearcats outscored GCSU 18-2 through the first eight minutes of the game. Lander continued this dominance into the second quarter as they outscored the Bobcats, which only hit four basketball in the game's first 20 minutes, 24-8 to take a 42-13 lead into halftime.
The Bobcats chipped into the lead throughout the third quarter as they outscored the Bearcats 19-9 in the third. However, the closest GCSU would get the remainder of the way was 18 points.
Jada Warren led the Bobcats with eight rebounds.
