NEWBERRY, S.C. | The Georgia College & State University men's tennis team swept past Newberry College 7-0 Tuesday (Feb. 18) afternoon at the Oakland Tennis Center.
The Bobcats remained unbeaten at 4-0, while the Wolves fell to 1-3. GCSU returns to action next Tuesday (Feb. 25) when they travel to Rome, Georgia, for a 2 p.m. match against Shorter University.
GCSUÂ won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead before the Bobcats won on six singles matches in straight sets, although two went to tiebreakers.
Chase Martin won his match at No. 1 singles 6-3, 7-6 (7), while
Braxton Wright picked up a 7-6 (3), 6-2 victory at No. 5.
