MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University men's basketball coach Ryan Aquino has announced the addition of Jake Rios as an assistant coach for the Bobcats.

"I'm excited to have Jake joining our staff moving forward," said Aquino.  "It is great to bring back another alumnus that has a passion and loyalty for the program in him already. He will bring great energy, experience, and knowledge to our program day one."

Rios is no stranger to the Bobcat faithful as he played two seasons for GCSU from 2008-10. The native of Bozeman, Montana, was a member of the 2009 and 2010 NCAA Division II Tournament teams.  Rios scored 570 points (10.0 ppg) and nailed 128 three-pointers in 57 games for the Bobcats. Rios is tied for No. 1 in the GCSU record book with a .4672 three-point shooting percent (128-of-274).

"I am very excited to return to Georgia College and once again team up with head coach Ryan Aquino and make my transition from player to coach," said Rios. "Georgia College brought me an incredible opportunity to live out dreams to play collegiate sports and provide unforgettable experiences. After finishing out an extensive professional basketball playing career, I'm eager to share and pass on my knowledge to a program I feel very connected to."

After his GCSU career, Rios had an 11-year overseas professional basketball career in Mexico and Australia. Rios earned his bachelor's degree in liberal studies from Montana State University.
