LAKELAND, Fla. | Florida Southern College scored twice in the second half to defeat Georgia College & State University 3-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday (Sept. 14) morning at Berend Field.
The Moccasins improved to 3-0-1, while the Bobcats dropped to 1-3-1 overall. GCSU returns to action Saturday (Sept. 20) when they host Clayton State University at 1 p.m.
Isabella Payne scored Florida Southern's first goal at the 6:14 mark. Bria Weldon scored the last two goals in the second half, with one penalty kick goal and one assist from Brinley Beorlegui.Â
The Bobcats were outshot 16-6, with three shots on goal.
Adriana Duque led with two shots, while
Sarah Mason,
Mackenzly Cheely,
Lillie Sheffield and Britanny Bakke each shot one.
Goalkeeper
Maddie Drake tallied five saves in the net, and
Ella Hayes and
Sarah Charney each saved one shot.Â
