Bobcats top Hurricanes 1-0

AMERICUS, Ga. | Georgia College & State University shut out Georgia Southwestern State University 1-0 in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Wednesday (Sept. 24) night at Hurricane Field.

The Bobcats improved to 3-3-1 overall and 2-0-0 in conference, while the Hurricanes fell to 3-4-0 and 0-2-0. GCSU will return to action Saturday (Sept. 27) at 12:30 p.m. in an away match against Flagler College. 

Sarah King scored the only goal of the game at the 26:05 mark off assists from Kate Phillips and Sarah Mason. This marked King's second goal of the season. 

GCSU outshot Georgia Southwestern 7-5, including a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. Georgia Southwestern held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Kassidy Fortin recorded two saves in the net for the Bobcats.
