MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University women's cross country team finished in fourth place at the Bobcat Invitational Friday (Sept. 26) evening at the Bobcat Cross Country Course.
The Bobcats finished with a team score of 96, while Augusta University won the 15-team meet with 41 points and was followed by NCAA Division I's Georgia Southern University (61) and the University of North Georgia (70).
Lauren Thisdale was the top GCSU finisher on the 5K course that will host the Peach Belt Conference Championship next month. Thisdale came in fourth place with a time of 19:42.9, while
Lorena Cazora notched a top-20 effort as she placed 18th with a time of 20:32.4.
Abbie Brown finished in 21st place with 20:37.7, while
Bella Russell came in 24th at 20:38.8.
Haven Bejnerowicz had a time of 21:14.3 and came in 32nd, while
Emma Shanklin was 38th (21:40.3) and
Maddie Reese Smith was 45th (21:55.7).
Lily Flood came in 52nd place with a time of 22:11.2 and was followed by
Eva Jeswald (61st, 22:44.9),
Avery Wheeler (64th, 22:58.5),
Emily Wright (65th, 23:05.1),
Emma Jow (71st, 23:34.0),
Briley Ittel (75th, 23:51.6),
Izzy Hall (76th, 23:58.3), and
Campbell Smith (86th, 24:40.6).
The Bobcats return to action Oct. 10 when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take part in the Royals Cross Country Challenge at 3:30 p.m.
