MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University women's volleyball team split two matches on the final day of the Bobcat Classic Saturday (Sept. 6) at the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats fell to Rollins College 16-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-21 in the opener before ending the Classic with a 25-20, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-16 victory over Albany State University.
GCSU improves to 3-1 and they will return to action Friday (Sept. 12) in Valdosta, Georgia, when they will compete in the Valdosta State tournament. The Bobcats face Palm Beach Atlantic University (11:30 a.m.) and Anderson (S.C.) University (7 p.m.) on the opening day of the tournament.
Camryn Carlton led GCSU with 17 kills against Rollins, while
Lexi Polychrones posted 11 more.
Sadie Parkerson distributed 18 assists while
Riese Johnson collected 10.
Alanis Bernis recorded 25 digs, while Polychrones added 12.
Nya Warren tallied five total blocked.
Avery Huyck paced the Bobcats with 15 kills and Carlton added 13 more. Parkerson had 19 assists, while Johnson closely followed with 18. Carlton also led the way with six total blocks (1 solo, 5 assists).
