FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. | Georgia College & State University swept past Emmanuel (Ga.) University 7-0 in a non-conference women's tennis match Friday (Jan. 30) afternoon to open up the 2026 season.
The Bobcats improved to 1-0, while the Lions fell to 1-3. GCSU opens its home schedule at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts Friday (Feb. 6) at noon when they host Tuskegee University.
GCSUÂ earned the doubles point as they claimed victories at the top two flights.
Rachel Black and
Victoria Conde Vendrell took a 6-4 win at No. 1, while
Laura Almagro and
Natalie Kirka earned a 6-2 win at No. 2.
The Bobcats took all the singles matches in straight sets to close out the victory.
