MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Erskine College rallied to win four singles matches as the Flying Fleet edged Georgia College & State University 4-3 in a women's tennis match Saturday (Feb. 7) afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
Erskine improved to 2-0, while GCSU suffered its first loss and fell to 2-1. GCSU returns to action Thursday (Feb. 12) when they travel to Hartsville, South Carolina, for a noon match against Coker University.
The Bobcats came out strong and took a 1-0 lead at doubles as GCSU won the first and third flights.
Rachel Black and
Victoria Conde Vendrell teamed up for a 7-5 win at No. 1, while
Lucy Kim and
Alisa Chiang won the third flight by the same 7-5 score.
Conde Vendrell won her singles match at No. 2 by scores of 7-5, 6-3 and
Natalie Kirka won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
