No. 37 Eckerd gets past GCSU

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. | Eckerd College defeated Georgia College & State University 6-1 in a non-conference women's tennis match Tuesday (March 17) at the Fred Bullard Courts.

The 37th-ranked Tritons improved to 7-2, while the Bobcats fell to 7-6. GCSU returns to action March 27 when they open up its Peach Belt Conference with a 2 p.m. match against Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Eckerd claimed the doubles point, but Laura Almagro and Natalie Kirka teamed up for the Bobcats to take a 6-1 decision at No,. 2.

Kirka also registered the lone singles point for GCSU as she posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
