Bobcats earn No. 6 seed in Peach Belt Tournament

GCSU will play at No. 3 North Georgia in quarterfinals Wednesday

AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference has released the bracket for the 2026 men's basketball tournament championship, which begins with the quarterfinals March 4.

Georgia College & State University (16-12 overall, 11-9 PBC), tied for fifth place and earned the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 seed University of North Georgia (20-6, 14-6) Wednesday (March 4) at 7:30 p.m. at the Lynn Cottrell Arena at the UNG Convocation Center in Dahlonega, Georgia.

The Nighthawks won both meetings against the Bobcats this season. UNG won 86-57 in Dahlonega Jan. 7, and then rallied in the final 0.6 seconds in its meeting in Milledgeville for an 80-79 victory.

The other three quarterfinal contests Wednesday (March 4) will have top seed Lander University (22-5, 17-3) hosting No. 8 seed University of South Carolina-Aiken (13-15, 8-12) in Greenwood, South Carolina, while No. 4 seed University of South Carolina-Beaufort (19-9, 13-7) facing No. 5 Flagler College (17-11, 11-9) in Bluffton, South Carolina, and No. 2 Columbus State University (21-7, 15-5) entertaining No. 7 Georgia Southwestern State University (16-12, 9-11) in Columbus, Georgia.

The four quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals Saturday (March 7) that will be hosted by the highest remaining seeded team. The finals are set for Sunday (March 8) with the winner earning the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II tournament.

All games of the PBC Tournament will be available via pay-per-view. The cost of the pay-per-view is $10 per game, $18 to watch the semifinals and championship game, or a tournament pass can be purchased for $25.
