SPARTANBURG, S.C. | Georgia College & State University outlasted Converse University 4-3 in a non-conference women's tennis match at the Sally Abner Rose Complex Saturday (March 7).
The Bobcats improved to 7-4, while the Valkyries fell to 1-5. GCSU returns to the Centennial Center Tennis Courts Friday (March 13) when they host Valdosta State University.
GCSU earned the doubles points as they won at No. 1 and No. 3.
Rachel Black and
Victoria Conde Vendrell won 6-1 at No. 1, while
Alisa Chiang and
Lucy Kim posted a 6-0 decision at No. 3.
Natalie Kirka got the first win in singles at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory before
Laura Almagro won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4.
Lucy Kim clinched the match at No. 5 as she dropped the first set 6-4 before taking 6-4, 6-3 wins in the other two sets.
