AUGUSTA, Ga. | No. 40 Augusta University defeated Georgia College & State University 7-0 in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match Sunday (April 19) afternoon at the Newman Tennis Center.
The Jaguars improved to 8-11 overall and to 1-5 in the Peach Belt, while the Bobcats fell to 4-12 and 0-6. Both teams advance to the PBC Tournament Friday (April 24) hosted by Columbus State University at the John C. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus, Georgia. The Bobcats earned the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed Flagler College at 6 p.m. in the first round.
Columbus State won five of the six singles matches in straight sets with the exception of the No. 1 flight. Alexis Bailhache defeated 44th-ranked
Chase Martin from GCSU 6-2, 1-6, 6-2.
