ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Flagler College scored four runs - three of the them unearned - in the eighth inning to pull out a 6-2 Peach Belt Conference baseball victory over Georgia College & State University Thursday (April 2) evening at Drysdale Field.
The Saints improved to 24-11 overall and to 11-8 in the league, while the Bobcats fell to 13-20 and 8-11. The middle game of the weekend series is set for 5 p.m. Friday (April 3).
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Cael Reish connected on a two-run homer to left field.
The Bobcats tied the game at 2 in the seventh.
James Beaver scored on a throwing error and
Cole Huddleston scored on a passed ball.
The Saints broke the game open with four runs in the eighth as Flagler took advantage of three GCSU errors.
Keaton Prior (2-6) tossed a complete game for the Bobcats, allowing just five hits and striking out five.
GCSU collected six hits with
Evan Cowan having two of them.
Carson Vick,
Carson Phillips, Huddleston and
Blake Bellflower each posting one each. Cowan, Huddleston and Bellflower each tallied a double for the Bobcats.
