MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | As Georgia College & State University seniors
Stephanie Condland and
Maddie Todd approach the end of their time as Bobcats, they reflect on the countless hours spent on and off the field and the values softball has given them.
Â
The Bobcats will begin play the Peach Belt Conference Tournament  Friday (May 8).  The Bobcats will face the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in a 1:30 p.m. quarterfinal game at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park in Dahlonega, Georgia
Condland, from Hoschton, Georgia, is an elementary education major. Condland will be a fifth-grade teacher at Chicopee Woods Elementary School after graduation and a coach for the Cherokee Bluff High School softball team.
Â
Condland describes what being a part of the Bobcat softball team is like.
Â
"The camaraderie with my teammates is truly like a family," said Condland. "Hanging out between classes, showing up at each other's apartments, and spending time together simply because we enjoy it. We play with energy, grit, and a lot of belief in each other. We celebrate each other's wins, pick each other up after tough days, and stay grounded through the ups and downs of a long season."
Â
Her favorite moments in GCSU softball are the dugouts every game.
"Through our cheering and overall support of one another, we make the dugout so fun," said Condland.
Â
Todd, from Cumming, Georgia, is an exercise ccience major and plans to continue her education in sports medicine at graduate school.
Â
Her favorite memory from her time with the GCSU softball program was "both walk-off wins against Columbus State University my junior year."
Â
One thing softball has taught her is that "Life will always be up and down, but you have to keep a positive mindset and push through the downs."Â
Â
Condland and Todd would like to thank their parents for their continuous support, as well as coaches, family and friends during their career.
