MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's and women's cross country, men's golf, women's soccer and women's volleyball teams are in action this week.

The women's volleyball team (3-11 overall, 0-2 Peach Belt Conference) returns to the Centennial Center Friday (Sept. 25) for the first time in the month of September when they host the University of South Carolina-Aiken in a 6 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match. The Pacers hold a 28-9 advantage in the all-time series, but the teams split their four matches during last season. The Bobcats defeated the Pacers in five sets on Senior Day and two weeks later beat USC Aiken in the first round of thee PBC Tournament, also in five sets.

The women's soccer team (4-2-0 overall, 2-0-0 Peach Belt) will play twice on the road this week. GCSU enters the week on a three-match win streak as they will face Carson-Newman Univesity Wednesday (Sept. 23) at 5 p.m. in Jefferson City, Tennessee, before taking on the University of South Carolina-Beaufort Saturday (Sept. 26) in a 1 p.m. PBC match in Bluttfon, South Carolina. The Eagles hold a 2-0 series lead with the Bobcats, but the teams haven't met on the pitch since 2017. GCSU leads the series with USC Beaufort 2-0-2 after teams battled to a 1-all draw last year in Milledgeville.

The men's and women's cross country teams will make the short trip to Macon, Georgia, Friday (Sept. 25) to take part in the PBC Preview meet being hosted by Middle Georgia State University. The women's race begins at 5 p.m. and is followed by the men's race at 5:45 p.m. This will give all the teams a look at the course being used for the PBC Championships Nov. 7.

The Bobcat men's golf team will travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 21-22) to take part in the 54-hole Lake Lanier Intercollegiate being hosted by the University of North Georgia at the par 70, 6,915-yard layout at the Achasta Golf Club. GCSU, which is coming off its best finish - fourth place at the Savannah Lakes Men's Invitational last week - in four years, will see stiffer competition this week as 12 of the 16 teams in the field are either ranked or receiving votes in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Top 25 poll.
