DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team is in 13th place after the first round of the Lake Lanier Collegiate hosted by the University of North Georgia Monday (Sept. 21).

The second round of the 54-hole tournament was suspended due to darkness after having to play around a lightning delay in the middle of the round. Teams will complete their round and will immediately start their final trek around the par 70, 6,915-yard layout on the Achasta Golf Club.

GCSU shot 289 in the opening round and still had six to eight holes to complete in the second round before the tournament was suspended. Lincoln Memorial University, which is ranked No. 8 in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Top 25 poll, leads at 272, three strokes ahead of the tournament hosts, who are ranked 14th. Twelve teams in the field are either ranked in the poll or receiving votes.

The top Bobcat in the field is Ty Willoughby, who is playing as an individual. Willoughby carded a four-under par 66 in the opening loop. Chase Blanton was tied for 19th place after an even-par 70, while Brady Schnaible is tied for 26th with a 71. Mason Pate, Andrew Lutjens and Andy Scott shot a 74 and are tied for 66th place.
