COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Georgia College & State
University women's basketball team (3-2) rolled over Tusculum
College (2-1) 78-63 today (Nov. 28), closing out the Jack Hughston
Classic hosted Columbus State University.
Senior Antoinette Reames
(Orlando, Fla.) led Georgia College today recording a
double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while also blocking
two shots. This is Reames' first double-double of the season.
Four other Bobcats scored in the double digits with junior guard
Chimere
Jordan (Gray, Ga.) contributing 12, junior forward
Deja
Montgomery (Irmo, S.C.) tallying 11, while guards
Shandrea Moore (Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla.) and Dominique Huffin
(Tucker, Ga.) each added 10. Moore also had a team high of
nine assists, giving her an average of 6.0 assists per contest.
Nine of Montgomery's 11 points came from behind the three-point
arc, going 3-for-4.
For the Pioneers, Kendal Baxter put up a game high of 23 points
while Jasmine Parker and Jasmine Gunn scored 13 and 10,
respectively.
Despite the 15-point loss, Tusculum beat the Bobcats on the
boards with 43 rebounds to the 'Cats' 42. Gunn led the
Pioneers with eight boards, while Parker and Staci Hicks snagged
six a piece. Moore grabbed eight boards for Georgia College, while
Huffin had seven and Tammeisha Law
(Athens, Ga.) had six.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Dec. 1, hosting Edward
Waters College with a tip-off time of 7 p.m. in the Centennial
Center.
