Box Score AIKEN S.C.- The Georgia College Soccer team (7-4, 2-3 PBC) suffered a loss on the road Wednesday at USC Aiken (3-6, 2-3 PBC) in overtime, 1-0.
The match was a competitive match-up as the game went through 90 minutes without a score from either squad. This forced the match into overtime which led to the golden goal victory for USC Aiken.
Throughout the game, the Bobcats dominated the ball in terms of possession and shots taken. GC had 23 shots compared to the Aiken four with 15 of them being on goal.
Becca Morris (Marietta, Georgia) dominated in the shots category with six and two on goal. Alyssa Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut) was the second-leading shooter for the Bobcats as she had five shots, four of which were on goal.
The GC defense was solid through 90 minutes and some change as they only allowed four shots one of which unfortunately touched the back netting. Goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta, Georgia) had two shots fired at her tonight as she recorded one save.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Oct. 16 at Bobcat field for senior day against Young Harris College. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. with live stats and video available at GCBobcats.com
