COLUMBUS, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Soccer (5-5-2, 4-2-1 PBC) took a 2-0 loss at No.4 Columbus State University (10-1-1, 6-0-1 PBC), Saturday.
The Bobcat offense couldn't get any momentum going only having five shots with three shots on goal. Sarah Mason (Atlanta) led the offense with two shots. Three different Bobcats had a shot on goal to round out the offense.
The Cougar offense was a tough opponent through 90 minutes getting off 21 shots with 10 on goal. Goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) nabbed eight saves to bring her career total to 233. This total brings her past Jessica Catapano for the third most in school history. Catapano had 224 career saves. Richardson now stands behind hall of famer Mary Rob Plunket who has the second most saves in school history with 275.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Bobcat Field against Newberry College (4-7-1, 3-4 SAC). This is GCSU Soccer's youth soccer night with kickoff set for 6 p.m. Live stats and broadcast links will be available at GCBobcats.com.
