Bobcat Women's Basketball Falls in Division I Exhibition at Charleston Southern, 81-46

CHARLESTON, S.C. – A massive second quarter provided the gap as the Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball team fell in an exhibition matchup at Division I Charleston Southern University Monday, 81-46.

The Bobcats trailed by a slim 16-12 margin after the first 10 minutes. In the second quarter, the Bucs exploded for 30 points, leading 46-24 at the break and never looking back.

Sophomore Ashyia Willis (Gainesville, Georgia) led with 11 points for GCSU, flanked by six from Harper Vick (Marietta, Georgia) and five each from three different players. Sophomore guard Alexis Figures (Buford, Georgia) paced the team with five rebounds.

The Bobcats shot just 29 percent from the field (18-62) and hit two of their 21 three-point attempts.

GCSU Women's Hoops tips off the regular season Nov. 11-12, hosting a Conference Challenge tourney. The Bobcats start against Southern Wesleyan University Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. in the Centennial Center.
