MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 49 Georgia College Women's Tennis team (2-0) stayed undefeated with a convincing 6-0 defeat of Clark Atlanta University (0-1) Saturday at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
The Bobcats picked up the doubles point with a sweep of all three slots. In the first slot, Emma Fleming (Suwanee) and Emilia Richter (Berlin, Germany) won after an injury halted the match. GC took the final two slots by 6-4 scores. Jordan Bowie (Macon) and Sofia Shing (Auckland, New Zealand) topped Shan Idlette and Kristen Blount on the second line. In third doubles, Ashton Morrison (Cumming) and Chiara Santoro (Santa Ursula, Spain) beat Nicola Ramdyhan and Shereese Henry.
The injury caused a no contest at the sixth slot, and the Bobcats swept the remaining five matches by allowing just four total games to slip loose.
On the first line, No. 44 Shing beat Madison Moffatt 6-1, 6-0. Richter won by shutout in second singles over Idlette. The third slot brought a 6-0, 6-2 win for Santoro over Blount.
Fleming won over Ramdyhan 6-0, 6-1 in fourth singles, while Bowie took a shutout win over Henry in the fifth slot.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m., traveling to Emmanuel College.
