AIKEN, S.C.- The Georgia College & State University women's soccer team netted three goals in the first half as the Bobcats defeated the University of South Carolina-Aiken 4-3 in a Peach Belt Conference match Saturday (Oct. 7) afternoon at the Pacer Pit.
The Bobcatsi mproved to 5-4-2 overall and to 2-2-1 in the Peach Belt, while the Pacers fell to 1-5-1 and 0-4-1. The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday (Oct. 11) as they take on Albany State University at 6 p.m. in Milledgeville.
The Bobcats were aggressive early getting off nine shot attempts in the first 45 minutes of play. GCSU did most of their damage in the first half with goals coming in the 23rd, 29th and 45th minutes.
Morgan Amrozowicz found the back netting first for the Bobcats, her first of the season. The goal was unassisted as Amrozowicz finessed her way around the Pacer defenders and booted the ball from the left side of the 18-yard box hitting the left side of the goal.
Carter Drake knocked in the next two goals for GCSU. The first was assisted by
Sarah Mason as she received the ball at the top of the box and knocked it in. Drake then nabbed her second one off of the assist from
Ellie Fuller. Fuller found her in the middle of the box and Drake drilled the ball in.
The Bobcats stayed aggressive in the second half with 10 shot attempts. GCSU picked up a goal in the second half as well to hoist them over USCA. Fuller knocked in her first career goal as Mason and Drake picked up assists on the play. Drake passed it to Fuller in the middle of the box and she nailed it into the right side of the goal.
Amrozowicz led the shots on goal category for the Bobcats as she had three on the afternoon.
Grace Phillips and Drake had the second most with two.

Madison Drake had an outstanding game picking up six saves to keep the Bobcats on top of the Pacers.
