36 point second half hoists Bobcats over Wildcats in 55-52 nail-biter victory

FORT VALLEY, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball edges out Fort Valley State University 55-52 for third straight win. 

GCSU improved to 3-2 on the season while FVSU fell to 0-2. The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Nov. 25 on the road at Newberry College with tip-off set for 2 p.m.

The first quarter started out with solid scoring from the Bobcats with 14 points but only five in the second quarter. After halftime, GCSU knocked down 19 and 17 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. Hannah Cail was outstanding icing her season high of 22 points while going 6-for-12 from behind the three point arc. Jaleah Storr was the squads second leading scorer with eight points including a 6-for-9 performance from the free throw line. Cierra Foster, Miracle Parker and Dashaun Jackson rounded out the leading scorers with five points apiece. Jackson shot 100% from all parts of the court on the night. Ashyia Willis lead the assisting with five. 

The Bobcats picked up 35 rebounds 19 of which were under the Wildcat basket. Jada Warren led the effort with seven total rebounds and five on offense leading to second chance points. Parker had the second most with six four on the defensive side of the ball. Storr rounded out the rebound leaders nabbing five with four coming on defense. Foster led the Bobcats with four steals.
