Warren double-double propels Bobcats to 84-76 win over Wolves

NEWBERRY, S.C.- Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball picked up the road win over Newberry College, 84-76, led by a Jada Warren double-double. 

GCSU improved to 4-2 on the season while NC fell to 2-3. The Bobcats are back in action Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. as they return to the Centennial Center to take on Emmanuel University (Ga.). 

The Bobcats spread out the scoring as four shooters had double digit points and two knocking down eight points. Warren had an outstanding game as she iced 12 points and nabbed 12 rebounds both are a season high. Warren went 5-for-8 from field goal range. Alexa Geary led hot offense with her season high of 15 points as she shot for 62.5 percent from the field. Hannah Cail had the second most points on the squad knocked down 14 points on the afternoon going 5-for-11 from field goal range and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. Ashyia Willis rounded out the double digit scorers tying the third most points with Warren as they both had 12. Willis had four buckets from the field and shot 75 percent at the free throw line. Cierra Foster and Dashaun Jackson both added eight points each. Foster made two field goals and went 4-for-6 from the line. Jackson had three field goals and shot 66.7 percent from free throw. Fosterled the team in assists with seven. 

In her double-double performance, Warren led the rebounding effort with 12 with seven coming under the Wolves basket and five coming down for second chance points. Jackson had the second most rebounds nabbing nine. She had six under the Bobcat basket and three on the defensive side. Miracle Parker rounded out the leading rebounders picking up five all coming under the NC basket. She also added five points to her box score.
