MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University celebrates the outstanding success of our fifth annual Athletics Day of Giving with 961 generous gifts -- we've shattered records -- raising an incredible $171,222 to support our GCSU student-athletes. Thank you, Bobcat Nation!

Additionally, the inaugural Bobcat Bash was a tremendous success, raising over $50,000 for the GCSU Champions Core. This initiative is dedicated to the total well-being of our student-athletes, providing essential support for athletic training, strength and conditioning and community-building efforts. We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of generosity from our supporters, which will have a lasting impact on our student-athletes' lives both on and off the field.

"This was a true team effort that demonstrates our community's commitment to empowering GCSU student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Wendell Staton. "On behalf of all our hardworking coaches and student-athletes, we are so grateful for this incredible display of support."

Funds raised during the Day of Giving have a direct and immediate impact, helping Bobcat athletics programs in countless ways. These include the purchase of new equipment, facility improvements, enhanced team travel, and athletics scholarship support.

The GCSU baseball team took the lead in their fundraising efforts with a remarkable 239 gifts generating over 30,000 for their program. In addition to baseball's stellar fundraising success, the cross country program nearly doubled their donor goal achieving 162% of their donor goal. Several other programs, including men's basketball, tennis, volleyball, softball and golf, each raised between $11,000 and $15,000.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee played an active role in the day by hosting their own campaign, resulting in over 100 gifts from current GCSU student-athletes. These contributions will help fund SAAC initiatives for the year.
