Bobcats wrap up fall season at Hurricane Invitational

ALBANY, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's golf team wrapped up their fall season Tuesday (Oct. 8) afternoon at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Georgia Southwestern State University.

The Bobcats shot 298 in the final round on the par 72, 7,024-yard layout at the Doublegate Country Club to complete the 54-hole event with an 885 score. The University of North Georgia captured the tournament with an 835 tally, nine strokes better than the University of West Florida.

Billy Goddard was the top Bobcat in the field as he shot a 73 and finished in a tie for 34th place with a one-over par 217. Chase Blanton was tied for 53rd place at 222 after a 78 in the final round, while Andy Scott signed for a 76 and tied for 61st place at 224. Matthew Rogers behind the strength of three consecutive birdies finished with the low round of the day for GCSU with a one-under par 71 to finish in a tie for 70th at 228. Ty Darsey posted an 80 and finished in 78th place at 234.

GCSU returns to the links Feb. 10 to compete in the Matlock Collegiate Classic in Lakeland, Florida.
