WINGATE, N.C. | Georgia College & State University cracked the top 10 in this week's Division II College Sports Communicators Southeast Region Poll at No. 8.

The Bobcats are making their first appearance in the regional poll, which is voted on by six sports information directors in the region (two per conference), since Jan. 2023.

GCSU, which is one of two new institutions to appear in this week's region poll, is off to a 4-0 start after wins over Erskine College (80-48) on the road and Newberry College (79-52) in its home opener last week.

Carson-Newman University received all six first-place votes and is ranked first followed by the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Augusta University, University of North Georgia, and Columbus State University to fill out the top five. Anderson (S.C.) University is listed sixth and is followed by Francis Marion University, GCSU, Catawba College and Georgia Southwestern State University to complete the top 10. Francis Marion is the other new team in the region poll.

The Bobcats have two home games inside the Centennial Center this week. GCSU hosts Shorter University Wednesday (Nov. 20) at 6 p.m. and North Greenville University Saturday (Nov. 23) at 2 p.m.
