Big fourth quarter leads to Lander taking down the Bobcats 50-43

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.  | The Georgia College & State University women's basketball team took a tough home loss to Lander University on homecoming 50-43 Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon at the Centennial Center. 

GCSU fell to 11-13 on the season and 5-9 in the Peach Belt Conference. Lander Improved to 16-8 and 9-5. The Bobcats return to the Centennial Center Wednesday (Feb. 21) for Faculty and Staff Appreciation night. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

The first half of play low scoring for both teams as the halftime score was 18-12 in favor of Georgia College. The Bearcats had a combined 37 point second half to complete the comeback and take the 50-43 win. 

Hannah Cail was the lone double figure scorer on the afternoon for the Bobcats. Cail knocked down four field goals while adding a perfect 4-for-4 day from the free thrown line for 13 points. Jaleah Storr was the team's second leading scorer as she scored eight points on four buckets from the floor. Ashyia Willis and Dashaun Jackson rounded out the leading scorers both adding seven points each. 

Jackson was the leading rebounder having eight defensive rebounds and three on the offensive side for 11 total. Miracle Parker nabbed nine boards good for the second most. Parker had five on the defensive end of the court and four under the Bobcat basket.
