MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball take down Clayton State University 83-71 in the Centennial Center.
GCSU improved to 12-13 overall and 6-9 in the Peach Belt Conference. CSU fell to 9-15 and 7-8 in the conference. The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 24 on the road at Georgia Southwestern State University for 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
The Bobcats kicked off the game knocking down 21 points in the first quarter and 24 in the second. Georgia College went into the half leading 45- 22. Clayton State outscored GCSU 49-38 in the second half but the first half lead from the Bobcats was wide enough to take the 83-71.
Myra Stickland had the hottest had between the two teams as she iced 20 points to lead both teams. Strickland had an outstanding 5-for-8 performance from three-point range to account for 15 of her points.
Ashyia Willis was the team's second leading scorer with 12 points coming on a 54.5 percent shooting day from the floor.
Jaleah Storr rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points on four field goals.
Cierra Foster came from injury to lead the team in assists with six.
Jada Warren had the most rebounds on the night for the Bobcats with nine.
Dashaun Jackson and Storr had the second most boards as they both nabbed seven.
